If you have ever wanted to spend an entire day out on the open ocean, but do not own your own boat, then you are in luck. With a Tarpon Springs fishing charter, you can go out for hours at a time while also getting in a little sport by catching fish. You can use this time to relax while also bonding with family or friends.

You do not have to own your own boat in order to go out on this type of adventure. Florida is full of charter companies that own the boat and equipment needed to go fishing. You do not even need to have previous experience with fishing, either, as the crew of your ship will be able to help any skill level from novice to newbie.

There are many different trips you can sign up for. There are shorter ones that last three to five hours, where you can spend just a single morning or afternoon on the water. There are also longer trips that can take six to eight hours, allowing you much more time to fill a cooler full of your catches. There are even day long trips that last up to 12 hours, where you will be on board from sun up to sundown.

Some charter companies even have overnight trips. These last up to 30 hours at a time, and are only boats with sleeping accommodations so you can rest. Meals are generally provided on these, along with water and other refreshments. Spots are limited though, so sign up quickly if you are interested.

The fees that the charter service charge for your excursion will vary according to the length of time of the trip. You can bring your own poles and other equipment if you have it, but the cost includes all necessary equipment, including bait and poles. The cost will likely also include your official and legally necessary Florida fishing license. This saves you a lot of time and hassle, and ensures that the only additional money you need is some cash to tip the crew at the end.

You can choose either a private or public charter for your trip. Private means just you and your group, along with the crew, of course. A public one is great for when you are going solo. You will join other solo fishermen or small groups, which means you meet new people while you relax on the water and catch your dinner for that night. You still get the same great service either way.

When you sign up, you will be given a date and time to meet at the dock, where the captain and crew await you. They will take you directly to the best spots so no time is wasted catching fish. Once you catch one, they are happy to clean and gut them for you as well.

There are many types of fish you can choose from, depending on what you have a taste for. Red snapper is very popular in these waters, as well as grouper, cobia, and trout. Then of course there is tarpon, which is what Tarpon Springs is famous for, hence the name.
