One interesting subtopic when it comes to the general firearms industry is buying firearm parts and accessories. Firearm laws have multiple layers of regulation not only on federal levels, but on state levels too.

Firearm sellers and users have to understand the limitations most especially when transferring and acquiring firearm accessories and components. It is essential for them to bear in mind that a few firearm accessories differ from ammunition including CZ scope rings. Based on the federal law, the regulations on the transfer and acquisition of gun ammunition should be taken seriously. Any form of ammunition should not be granted to alcohol users, convicted felons, illegal aliens, those accused of domestic violence charges and habitual drug users.

The sale of handgun ammunition to individuals under 21 and long gun ammunition to individuals under 18 are not allowed by the Federal law. These broad regulations are imposed by the Federal law. However, the sale for ammunition is regulated on state level too. Firearm accessories such as ammunition definitely vary from state to state.

The regulations being set in different states vary when it is about the possession and sale of ammunition very much alike the gun laws. This is the case in Massachusetts and Illinois since it is necessary to obtain a permit before making any firearm related purchases. Before acquiring a firearm in many states, a permit is necessary. Nevertheless, Massachusetts and Illinois strictly require a permit before their people can be allowed to acquire one.

At present, twelve states do not permit armor-piercing ammunition. Tennessee, Mississippi, New York, New Hampshire, Indiana, California, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, New Jersey and Connecticut restrict the possession, transfer or sales of armor-piercing ammunition.

Depending on state law, varying restrictions when it comes to the size of a magazine are applicable too. Limit on the size of a magazine are placed by New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Hawaii and California. Only 10-15 bullets per magazine are allowed. When it comes to the magazine size, amount of ammunition or caliber size, only the states mentioned impose regulations. The other states only follow the Federal broad framework when it comes to buying firearm accessories.

Firearm parts such as laser guides, scopes, assault rifle additionals and silencers are classified under Federal law. Individuals needs a federal license so that they can buy any of the gun parts such an assault rifle. Majority of the time, these licenses are only given for military or law enforcement purposes. When it comes to gun parts, the laws for these in states do not vary. Licenses or regulations are needed to immediately buy other gun accessories such as armor, targets, holders and holsters.

The regulation in gun accessories and components are not that tricky to understand. In fact, the laws can be simplified even more. It is very simple to follow the laws established by the federal authority especially if one understands the firearm accessories and components' restrictions in his or her locality. These are the things one has to remember. It is essential that he or she follows these. Otherwise, he or she might just violate these state and federal laws.
